Lose Weight with Volumetrics Diet Plan

By: Milos Pesic

Deciding to start dieting does not imply that you have to eliminate your favourite food. Following the Volumetrics Diet you can attain your perfect weight without being starved.

It is a well-known diet created by nutritionist Barbara Roll. Roll's weight loss program is based on the energy density concept. Energy density is outlined as the amount of calories contained in a specific quantity of food or serving. Food with high energy density hasa great deal of calories whereas food with low energy density has fewer calories. Foods with great amount of fat are high in energy density and water has zero energy density.

The great thing about this weight loss program is that you can proceed eating your favorite food andslimming down at the same time. You can consume big volume of food, providing that these foods are low in energy density. When you consume low energy density food you will feel stuffed because of the amount of the food you have eaten and not because of the number of calories, grams of fat, protein, carbs or anything else.

There are no forbidden foods and classification of foods into good or bad in this Volumetrics diet. What matters is that you keep evaluating the foods which you eat based on their energy density. Sweets, chips and crackers, for example, are high in energy density foods and thus, you must cut down on them. Some kinds of foods that have very low energy density include soups or broth, fat free milk, fruits with high water content, fiber, fish and lean protein. Food with high water content such as vegetables and fruits have 95% water and will easily fill you up without caring too much about the calories.

Any nutritionist would recommend this dietary plan since it aids you to eat and live healthy. Consuming more foodswith low energy density, you will reduce weight without even starving yourself. The Volumetrics Diet will reassure you that starving to cut down on calories is not the great solution to slim down.
